General FAQs:

What all do I need to get set up?
Your Federal Tax Number, Legal Name, voided business check, copy of your ID, and a few signatures.  If you need to process EBT transactions we will also need a copy of your USDA EBT Food Stamp certificate.  For Gift Card Service or Check Acceptance Service there are additional forms to be signed.  We will send an application that will need to be signed and sent back to us or bring it in person if you happen to reside in Central Illinois. 

Can I use my existing checking account?
Absolutely! Your current checking account is where you will receive your funds. 

How long before I get my new machine(s)?
As quickly as possible.  Usually it takes around 2 business days after we receive the completed application for the approval and equipment preparation before shipment. Shipping time is about 2-3 days for a Dejavoo Z8, unless, of course you reside in Central Illinois, whereas, we would install it for you at your location. Point-Of-Sale Systems also have a lot of other customization and integration involved, which is why you should never procrastinate with a POS solution if you know you will be needing it soon.  It would be wise to allow for a full 1-2 weeks for the initial setup from start to finish, yet we can get a POS ready in a matter of days if needed.  We will advise you specifically what we need to optimize your new POS solution to address all the fine details upfront, which is recommended.

What if I need more than one credit card terminal?
All additional terminals are only $16/month which also includes Free Paper Rolls. The first terminal is free in stand-alone credit card terminal offer.

Our router is not close to our cashier station and routing an ethernet cord would be very inconvenient; can your machines do WIFI?
Absolutely! Ethernet and dial connections are available on our standard model, but WIFI is available on our next model up.  You must make a special request for this.  Our most advanced model, which is highly portable, can even connect to a 3G connection with a Dejavoo Wireless Plan.  They are guaranteed to be the cheapest wireless plans out there today.

Our Wifi is already pretty congested by other devices and usage by our customers; do you offer a free wireless router for usage with your credit card terminals?
Actually, yes!  This is a good example where Brink Services is shown to go above and beyond for our customers.  A credit card terminal is only as good as the connection that it is on.  In our experience if there are too many users on a network, connection integrity begins to diminish, especially during busy times.  Make sure to mention you need a router when we talk to you about your credit card processing solution! A FREE Wifi router is included if you sign up through us!  And it comes ready to use out of the box.

How long does it take for my funds to deposit?
Next business day if the batch was completed before the cut-off time.  Our latest cut-off time ends at 8 PM ET for one of our best national processors.

What if my machine breaks or stops working?
There is a 1 Year Warranty on all equipment on any issues not relating to negligence.  Contact our office and we will fix your issue in a prompt manner. If you are beyond your Warranty Period a replacement must be purchased for whatever equipment we originally provided.

Oh no! I forgot to adjust my tips before I batched out; what can I do?
We have a way to credit your lost tips, even after the batch has been submitted.  Just contact our office and we will assist you.  You will be asked to picture text the stubs to my mobile number.

Does your terminal make me enter in the tip for chipped card transactions at the time of sale, while the card is present?
Absolutely not.  That is just bad business if you’re stuck with a machine that can’t adjust a tip on a chipped card transaction after the time of the sale. Our terminals can do exactly that.

Why should I accept EMV-chipped card transactions?
If you do not, you will be liable for every charge-back from unscrupulous customers who are willing to pull a quick one on you just because they can. 

Will you make a receipt logo for me if I don't have one?
Absolutely!  A good one at that!  Ask to see the logo creation scrapbook we’ve accumulated from our current customers. 

Do I need to do anything for PCI compliance?
The quick answer is very little.  We will reach out to you about this once you’ve signed up.

Do you do EBT Food Stamp processing?
Absolutely!  Probably for considerably less than you’re paying now, too.

Will we receive a separate American Express statement?
Absolutely not!  American Express is supported by our in house Opt-Blue program and we do not outsource these transaction to the American Express third party.  Not only is it cheaper this way, but that means less for your book keeper to do as well.

I'm in contract; can I still switch?
Your obligations to your previous provider are up to you to resolve.  We can help advise with the process, however, so feel free to inquire about your concern specifically when you reach out to us.  If your business is particularly attractive to us, we might consider reimbursing your loss for switching, in the event you do have an ETF, during the preliminary quoting processing.

I referred another business owner; if they sign up do I get a bonus?
Absolutely! $100 for any and all referrals resulting in a sign-up.  Just contact our office if you have a lead that you personally know and have talked to them about us and they have become interested in signing up because of you. 

I'm content with my current processor; why would I switch?
Submit your processing statement on the Contact Form and we will perform a FREE SAVINGS QUOTE to see if you’re being overcharged.  Keep in mind we foster competition from 6 leading wholesale national processors, which means more competition, lower prices, and a better bottom line for you! 

Are there any early termination fees for new sign-ups?
There are no early termination fees, ever.  Not for the credit card processing service or POS service. This sets us apart from 95% of all other processors that will either set you up with an ETF or an equipment lease or BOTH. In the event that you would like to close your account you will be required to 1) send ALL the equipment back and 2) contact your processor to close your account.  Your processing account cannot be closed until the equipment is sent back in good working condition.  

There is a $300 charge per credit card terminal not returned in the event you wish to keep the equipment, or it’s lost, damaged, or stolen for clients who sign up for the Free Terminal Offer.  There is a flat $600 charge for each Point-Of-Sale System Station not returned as well (includes tablet, drawer, printer, and terminal) for clients who sign up for the POS System.

Refer to the Merchant Processing Agreement and the Brink Services Point Of Sale System Contract for more details.  We must keep these protective measures in place to protect ourselves from abusive or unscrupulous clients.
